Natasha Schaffer, E-RYT

E-RYT200, Certified Yoga Meets Dance (™) Facilitator

Yoga found Natasha in 1999 at a dance studio. When teacher instructed dancers to breathe through a 3 minute “yoga moment” in standing leg lift, something shifted. The leg didn’t fall off (strangely), but something else left her system with that sweat. And what remained felt so good and whole, that Natasha set out to find “yoga moments” in everything she did.

She became a certified Yoga Meets Dance (™) Facilitator in 2007, leading wild and fun dance journeys. In 2010 she trained with Jonny Kest, whose dynamic teaching style was most engaging and dance-like and had taught at Center for Yoga for 3 years.

Called to look deeper into the heart of yoga tradition, Natasha continued to study many “flavors” of yoga and dance with many great teachers – David Williams, Mark Whitewell, Tias Little, Gabrielle Roth, Rod Stryker. She is currently pursuing 500 Yoga Therapy Certification with Rod Stryker, founder of Parayoga. Rooted in the oldest known system of knowledge – Tantra – this comprehensive approach to yoga weaves breath, movement, philosophy, science, and meditation into every practice. In her yoga classes Natasha strives to deliver complete yoga experience to students of all levels. And… she is still dancing. “Life is a Dancer, You are the Dance” ~ E. Tolle

Sammy Hart, RYT

Sammy_Hart

A wanderer by nature, Sammy traveled around the globe for majority of her twenties in search of something deeper than herself.  She continues to utilize travel, yoga and meditation as her gateway to self-discovery and present moment awareness of the day-to-day.  In teaching she creates a welcoming environment with super supportive conditions that allow for unfolding, reflection and dissection. Her classes weave several styles together to create a moment in time that is always purposeful and encourages deep subtle body awareness to take us closer to our sacred presence.  Trained under the watchful eye of Julia McCabe in vinyasa core with an advanced training in Forest Yoga she continues to study under her mentor YuMee Chung of a Jivamukti lineage.  Through great teachers and her studentship, she makes the continual commitment to teach in presence, find kindness, and keeps a sense of humor towards the invisible in order to better serve her students.

Alex Ptak, RYT

Alex is a registered yoga teacher, bootcamp instructor, personal trainer and avid nutritional junkie.  His interestin yoga began 6 years ago, when he would attend his mom’s classes.  A deep interest in body building, nutrition and wellness developed over the past 4 years and Alex chose to expand his knowledge by participating in yoga teacher training.   He realized less tension and tightness in his muscles, improved strength and flexibility, which was proof enough that yoga works!

– Certified via Beaumont Health. Department of Integrative Medicine.
Freelance writer

Debra completed both her 200 hour and 500 hour advanced training with Linda Kay. She was drawn to yoga by both the alignment and philosophy and has been practicing for nearly 20 years.  “I teach yoga because it brings me joy to share what  I love and that which has been so transformative for me.”  My hope and intention for my students is that  they find a connection to their yoga practice that enhances their lives both on and off the mat as a healing, heart centered journey.
I have studied with Noah Maze, Rocky Heron, Maty Ezraty, Jason Crandell and Kino. My passion for yoga and learning keeps me engaged with my creative side–I enjoy working with metals and making jewelry at BBAC, volunteering at the DIA and spending time in nature with my Golden Retriever, Bodhi.  I facilitate reiki with private clients and teach yoga to a diverse student base throughout metro Detroit.
